humanfurnitureMost of us at some point in our lives have put our feet up on someone on all fours and used them playfully as a foot rest but for some this is a serious fetish that they seek to indulge in on a more advanced level.
Human furniture(or forniphilia) is a form ofbondage and sexual objectification in which a person’s body is incorporated into a piece furniture such as a;
Table
Lamp
Chair
Rocking chair
Foot stool
Pedestal
Plant and telephone stands.

Also non furniture items such as sculptures, ceiling decorations and wall hangings.

As being turned into a piece of furniture will often include prolonged bondage and sometimes the use of a mask care must be taken to ensure the well being of the submissive, including the use of a safe word or sign which must be respected. The use of bondage would be optional but depending on the type of furniture could make being in one position for a set period of time much easier, it also adds some decoration and enhance the look of the object.

humanfurniture3Other props will usually be used such as a table top, these would normally be glass so that the human part can be fully appreciated. A lamp will need a lamp shade, a chair would need a base, rocking or stationary. Ceiling decorations will need some sort of fixture and some very strong, safe bondage, this should only be practiced by those experienced for obvious reasons.

Sculptures can be as simple or elaborate as required, just sitting or standing in a certain position, naked or clothed or decorated with other items creating something pleasing to the eye.humanfurniturefeature

The furniture can be either male or female with no real restrictions on either being able to take on the role of most objects within reason. Obviously weight may play a part for either sex so the type of furniture would be tailored to that rather than the gender. That said it is normally men that will opt for the traditional eye candy type objects such as a beautiful women as a sculpture, decorative wall hanging or as a table with her genitals on display as generally speaking men are more visual than women. This is not to say that women do not enjoy admiring the male form just that they tend to go for a more practical object.

Apart from using a safe word or signal the human furniture is merely an object to be used or looked at. For some this would be humiliating, for others the enjoyment will come from being admired as the object they have been transformed into. There may or may not be a sexual element to this type of play depending on the situation of those involved.

A dungeon setting is not required for this type of play, in fact a home type setting would be preferable as that is where furniture is found which means that this play is open to pretty much anybody that wishes to try it. There is plenty of information on the internet with photos to give ideas.

Pop artist Allan Jones was famous for his sculptures in which women were turned into items of furniture such as a hat stand, table and chair. An example of one of his pieces Chair is in the UK Tate Gallery.

The Korova Milkbar scene in Clockwork Orange was also inspired by his work.
